Hey Everyone,
I hope you’re enjoying this amazing summer we’re having in the South Bay!
It’s way past time for one of my “New In Hermosa” emails, there’s so much new down here, it’s incredible! The food scene is booming, there’s a new yoga studio, and a guitar shop that’s one of the coolest retail concepts I have ever seen.
Here’s a little preview for you…
Dia De Campo…
From our friends at Abigaile and Little Sister comes Dia De Campo. A modern surf lodge, fish house and raw bar. The food is super flavorful and different, I would expect nothing less from this crew. Atmosphere is great too, and the classic margarita was delicious. Ask for their homemade hot sauce!
The Hook & Plow
We’ve been here twice, once with the kids and once without, and both times we had a great experience. Trust your server and get the panko crusted avocados with lime cilantro dipping sauce… You will not be disappointed!
Paradise Bowls
This is the second location for Paradise Bowls, (the first is the super popular place with the line downtown Manhattan Beach). We’re so happy they came down to Hermosa Avenue, this is the perfect snack after you finish your workout next door at the next place on our list…Soho Yoga.
My children both devoured their bowls, they thought it was desert, only I knew better.
Soho Yoga
Of course I haven’t taken a class yet…but I swear I’m going to start this week! The studio is beautiful, clean and brand new. The people who work there are lovely, they have a darling retail section in front, and they have a special running…$30 for 30 days for new students!
The Standing Room
We haven’t been to this new location yet, but we loved the burgers we tried at their original location in the back of a liquor store in Redondo! Next date night this is on the list.
Two in one…The Greenbelt and Project Taco
Two completely different businesses, but they both fit in one photo!
Project Taco serves quick and easy, delicious tacos a la carte that you can eat at their little table out front, or take to the beach.
The Greenbelt just opened, and while I haven’t been there yet, it’s getting rave reviews from lots of customers coming in to Gum Tree. The menu looks small but yummy… appetizers, salads and pizzas heavy on the veggie ingredients. And they serve beer and wine!
And last but not least…
@Mike’s Guitar Parlor
I just popped in to this place directly across the street from us, for the first time today, and I am completely blown away. Mike was there of course, and couldn’t have been a nicer guy. It felt like the hip living room of a really cool musician you wish you were friends with. Anyone and everyone is invited in, to purchase or just to PLAY any of Mike’s personal collection of guitars, electric and acoustic, from the 50’s to today…He sells new Gibson acoustic guitars too. Prices range from $1,600 to $20,000.
The sign on the door says the best days to buy are Wednesday through Sunday, and best days to play are Monday and Tuesday.
Hope you can make it down to one of these awesome new spots.
