Very exciting times these are…
Yesterday the Manhattan Beach City Council unanimously approved the motion made by Councilmember Steve Napolitano:
“I move that the City of Manhattan Beach support the elimination of the curbside only restriction for our retail businesses immediately.“
That means that effective immediately, retail businesses in Manhattan Beach who decide to allow customers into their stores should operate under the same LA County Department of Health COVID Guidelines as other essential retailers.
This is very exciting news, and we are thrilled for our neighbors who will be ready to accommodate opening their doors right away.
Here at Gum Tree we are not quite ready to fully open our doors to the public.
- Keeping our community and our team safe is our number one priority. We are carefully reviewing all LA County, CA State and CDC guidelines for safely reopening.
- Our next step is to change over our shop from the online fulfillment warehouse it has become, back into the beautiful shop-able space that you are all accustomed to!
- These things take time, and Will and I feel better taking that little bit of extra time dotting all of our i’s and crossing all of our t’s.
In the meantime…we are happy to welcome you for online order pick up and front door shopping at our Downtown Manhattan Beach Shop every day from 12-4!

We sincerely hope that our Hermosa Beach location can open sometime this coming week, we are excited to get the Cafe up and running for Take Out Only, and the Shop open for window shopping and phone/email orders as well.
